Greetings, Fellow Neighbors!

I'm Richard Reyes. I want to let you know that I am running for the City of West Covina Council District 5 seat. When elected, my goal as a council member is to bring balance to our city.

From the ashes of 2008, I built my Real Estate business from the ground up here in West Covina in District 5. Coming off the heels of one of the largest financial challenges in modern history, it was important for me to focus first here in my local community with a clear budget and a financially sustainable business model to outperform any market. My strengths are transparency and great character, which I promise to deliver. I’m certain we can offer our fellow West Covinians a newer and fresher approach.

Over the years, I have been involved in the local Rotary Club. Currently, I am an active member of my local parish. Additionally, I have volunteered my time with local high school teams and served as a leader of our team. As District 5 Councilman, I am looking forward to serving you.

THESE ARE MY CONCERNS, WE NEED TO GET INVOLVED

· Crime & Public Safety

· We are Top 12 in worst-run cities in California

· Last two years defict $26,000,000

· The City Hall, the Parks, and the Streets have all been mortgaged.

· Three dealerships have closed here in town.

· Big League Dreams were overtaken. A loss of $1,000,000 in revenue for our city every year.

· The city received $20,000,000 in COVID relief for small businesses. Where is the CARES ACT money for us small business owners?

· The city spent $1,000,000 on starting a health department without a business plan.

· Landfill owned by BKK Corporation in West Covina. A supposed hotel was supposed to be built. When?

What will you do?

What is your plan of action?

In a nutshell, my answer is:

Create a collaborative environment with the other council members. Establish a close working relationship with the city manager and provide transparency to us voters and taxpayers.

· We need more police on the streets

· STOP OVER-SPENDING, live within our fiscal means

· Customer service at City Hall needs to be improved

· All of our streets should be repaired and repaved

· Promoting youth programs and activities
